Barça Ready for Historic Match at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday
The club confirmed they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome the Bilbao team in the Spanish league two and a half years after they moved out to allow renovations to start.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees can be present under the licence granted. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.
Preparatory Events
Barcelona held a public practice on the home pitch earlier this month. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to host the next European match facing Eintracht on 9 December at Camp Nou. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
