Chiefs Confirm Domestic Violence Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise issued a statement Wednesday night confirming they are aware of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a former girlfriend of player the athlete and had been in contact with the league office.
The team omitted the name of Rice by name in their announcement and said they would have “no further comment at this time”.
Allegations Shared on Instagram
The woman, who also did not mention the athlete directly, posted a set of images on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. Jones did say the individual in question was the father of her children, and it is known she has kids with Rice, whom the team drafted in the 2023 draft.

No official complaints were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have occurred.
Player's Prior Off-Field Troubles
The receiver missed the initial part of this season following an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a crash on a Texas roadway that resulted in multiple people injured. He was given a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
On the field, Rice finished the year with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City finished with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first time in a ten-year span.
